Laura Fygi1955年8月出生在荷兰的阿姆斯特丹，她的父亲是一名荷兰商人，母亲则是一位埃及的肚皮舞娘，然而这种嫁给爱情的婚姻却使她母亲放弃了挚爱的肚皮舞。不幸的是，Laura的父亲在她五岁时就过世了。之后Laura渐渐表现出了对音乐的兴趣，大概对于艺术的喜爱是相通的，她的母亲也是最开始支持她的人。

在荷兰，Laura Fygi被命名为一种郁金香的名字，由此可见，Laura用她高辨识度的嗓音征服了不少荷兰听众，而这些音乐爱好者也用他们独特的方式表达了对其的喜爱！
